Appearance: Uniform red-brown to purple-brown with light brown sapwood.

Characteristics: Medium texture with interlocked grain. Less uniform ribbon striping than sapele. Machines, finishes, and glues well. A reduced cutting angle may prevent tearing of interlocked grain.
